Pokhara, June 15 – The Nepal Air Sports Organization has announced an increase in the paragliding flight fee in Pokhara. Effective immediately, the rate for paragliding flights will be raised from 8,500 rupees to 12,000 rupees per flight.

The revised fee structure includes insurance coverage, transportation expenses, and pilot fees. Sunil Bhattarai, President of the Nepal Air Sports Association, explained that the operational costs have risen since the opening of the international airport in Pokhara, necessitating the adjustment in prices. Additionally, paragliding activities have been relocated from Toripani and Sarangkot to Mandre Dhunga, further contributing to the increased expenses.

Under the new fee structure, paragliding pilots will receive 6,000 rupees per flight. Currently, a total of 60 paragliding companies are affiliated with the Nepal Air Sports Association, with 52 of them actively operating. Furthermore, there are approximately 400 licensed paragliding pilots employed across all affiliated companies.

The increase in paragliding flight fees aims to accommodate the growing operational expenses faced by the Nepal Air Sports Association. This adjustment will ensure the continued provision of safe and reliable paragliding experiences for tourists visiting the picturesque city of Pokhara.
