Pokhara, June 15

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has emphasized the need for Chief Ministers to expedite and execute solidarity measures swiftly and systematically. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Inter-Provincial Chief Ministers’ Meeting in Pokhara on Friday, Prime Minister Dahal expressed his conviction that the gathering would play a crucial role in bolstering the democratic republic and enhancing inter-provincial relations.

He acknowledged the efforts of elected representatives at all three levels in advancing development despite limited resources.

The Prime Minister highlighted the ongoing organization of financial transfers at the state and local levels, following recommendations from the National Natural Resources and Finance Commission. He noted that approximately 80 laws related to federalism implementation have been enacted, with 165 laws amended. Furthermore, he announced the upcoming inaugural session of the National Coordination Council in Pokhara, the capital of Gandaki province, scheduled for tomorrow.

During the inauguration program, Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Surendra Raj Pandey, expressed the challenges faced in various areas such as security, education, and land acquisition, emphasizing the necessity for the province to receive the appropriate support.
