Himalaya Airlines Celebrates 10 Years of Soaring Success with Grand Ceremony in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, June 5, 2025 — Marking a decade of excellence in aviation, Himalaya Airlines, a leading international carrier based in Nepal, celebrated its 10th anniversary with a grand ceremony at Hotel Yak & Yeti in Kathmandu. The event brought together dignitaries from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, and the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), alongside enthusiastic participation from the airline’s team.

The celebration was graced by H.E. Mr. Chen Song, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Nepal, who attended as the Chief Guest. Other distinguished guests included Mr. Mukesh Dangol, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, and Mr. Deo Chandra Lal Karn, Deputy Director General of CAAN.

In their remarks, the dignitaries praised Himalaya Airlines for its significant contributions to Nepal’s aviation sector, lauding its role in enhancing international connectivity, promoting tourism, and boosting trade. Himalaya Airlines currently operates flights connecting Nepal with China, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, Malaysia, and Bangladesh.

The evening featured vibrant cultural performances by Himalaya Airlines staff, including traditional dances, singing, and ethnic attire showcases, reflecting the diverse heritage of Nepal. The program served as both a celebration of the airline’s achievements and a tribute to its dedicated employees, partners, and loyal passengers.

Founded in 2014 and commencing operations in 2016, Himalaya Airlines has steadily expanded its presence, establishing itself as a reliable international airline with a strong network across Asia and the Middle East.
