Pokhara, August 28/ Druk Air, the national airline of Bhutan, is set to establish direct air connectivity between Paro International Airport in Bhutan and Pokhara International Airport. The necessary permissions have been secured for charter flights to operate this route, with the inaugural flight scheduled for September 9th, as announced on August 23rd.
Gyanendra Bhul, the spokesperson for the aviation authority, confirmed that following the successful execution of the chartered flight, Druk Air plans to initiate regular flight services between Bhutan and Pokhara. The flights will be operated using narrow-body aircraft, facilitating seamless travel between the two destinations.
Pokhara International Airport, inaugurated on January 1st, 2023, has seen significant growth in its operations, with a sole chartered international commercial flight recorded thus far. The airport’s domestic operations have also gained consistency, contributing to its overall development as a vital aviation hub.
