Subash and Kashmira shines 

Pokhara, 15th Oct: Subash Tamang of Nepal Army won the Individual Gold medal in Men’s section after facing a strong challenge from Young Golfer of Bagmati province Sadbhav Acharya. Tamang who had two strokes lead over Acharya was two-down going into 16 hole but Sadbhav three-putted to cut short the lead to one shot.

On the final hole Subash sank a birdie and Sadbhav again three-putted to loose by one-stroke. Subash played a round of even-par for a total of one-under 137. Sadbhav shot one-under 68 for a total of even-par 138. Yubraj Bhujel of province one shot a round of one-over 70 for a total score of three-over 141 to earn bronze medal. 

Kashmira Shah made a come back on the final round to clinch gold medal for Bagmati Province, she carded eight-over 77 today for a total score of 23-over 161. Overnight joint leaders Tara Karki Chitrakar of Bagmati and Susma Sigdel of Province one earned silver and bronze medal. Tara played a round of 14-over 83 for a total of 26-over 164 and Susma carded 15-over 84 for a total of 27-over 165. 

On the team event Bagmati clinched golf among men, the team comprising Sadbhav Acharya, Tashi Tshiring, Wangchen Dhondup, and Norbu Tshiring Sherpa finished with the score of 432, Province one with team members Yubraj Bhujel, Rajen Rai, Sunder Rai and Suman Pariyar bagged silver medal with the total score of 449. Subash Tamang, Nischaya Rayamajhi, Bishnu Bahadur Karki and Jhalendra Bhattarai got bronze medal. 

Bagmati Province women;s team bagged gold medal, the team was comprising of Kashmira Shah, Tara Karki Chitrakar and Prativa Rai scored 325. Susma Sigdel, Sumitra Limbu and Samjhana Dahal Khatri got silver medal with the score of 358. Gandaki province comprising of Juny Gurung, Tika Gurung and Sunita Rana bagged bronze medal. 

The event was played over 36-holes. There were five men’s team and four women’s team in the event.  

NGA Treasurer Kishan Agrawal, Gandaki Province Golf Association President Lacchim Prasad Gurung, Nepal Sports Council member Rajesh Gurung among others handed medals and prizes to the winners.
