Mustang Golf Course officially opened
Tamang wins Historic Golf Tournament
Mustang Golf Course, situated at 4645 me was opened amidst a ceremony at the Mustang Golf Course, Lomanthang on Saturday. This course being the highest Golf Course in the world shall very soon be recorded in the Guinness book of world records. Dr. Rita Thapa, 81 years old female golfer took adventurous trip to the course to inaugurate the golf course and the tournament with the opening tee-shot.
The tournament kicked off with 36 participants. The first group of golfers led by provincial assembly member Indra Dhara Bista started from first hole.
Shyam Tamang won the tournament scoring 22 points in nine holes. Balaram Thapa finished runner-up with 20 points. Ravinder Saini scored 14 gross points to win the best gross title. Susma Singh finished as Ladies winner with 15 points. Ravinder Saini won the longest drive and Shyam Simkhada won the closest to the pin award. Nobody could claim the hole-in-one prize kept at third hole.
The event was played on a stableford format with 3/4 handicap was organized with the support from Lo Manthang Rural Municipality with main sponsorship of The Glenlivet.
Member of Parliament from Mustang Prem Prasad Tulachan, Gandaki Province Parliamentarian Indra Dhara Bista, NGA Vice President Pavitra Kumar Karki Chairman of Lo Manthang Rural Municipality Tashi Norbu Gurung, Chairman of Nagekar Damodarkunda Rural Municipality Lopsang Tsenfel Bista, and Baragaupalika Muktitsetra Rural Municipality Chairman Rinjin rung among others gave away the prizes to the winners of the tournament.
Khempo Tsewang Ringchen gave certificate of appreciation to all the participants.
